Jaded Lunar New Year
Tea Ritual and Floral Hands-on

Join us for a social afternoon of design and storytelling. In this Lunar New Year-themed floral design session, we explore the "Abundant Harvest" by bridging the gap between premium botanicals and the beauty of the asian pantry.
Let's play with different shapes and dimension. We ask each participant to bring a container or vase from home. Ideal types are:
A 'Tall and Narrow' vessel from home. A glass or ceramic vase with a straight or curved neck. The opening should be between 4"-6".
A 'Low and wide' container 6"–8" wide and 4"-6” deep. Think ramen bowl or ceramic pot.
If there’s a particular vase you want to use or you're still not sure, just snap us a photo for a pre-workshop consultation.
We will start with a community tea tasting to mindfully celebrate the flavors of the season and segue into a pantry table of fresh blossoms, pine, and "golden” tangerines.
Attendees will use the wire grid forms, foam-free mechanics, and sustainable techniques to each create a one-of-a-kind design to take home and admire during Lunar New Year celebrations.
**Intermediate skill level. Previous floral design experience is recommended.

Come join us in Mount Pleasant at The Playground Studio (108 East Broadway, Vancouver) for a cozy, hands-on floral workshop with Jaded Creative. You’ll create your own forest-inspired arrangement using fresh evergreens, a few delicate blooms, and mushrooms with whimsy (aka kinako in nihongo). The focus is on having fun, getting creative, and enjoying a relaxed, social afternoon that lifts your winter spirits.

I’m hosting a last-minute holiday centrepiece workshop Tuesday night in Mount Pleasant. It will be a low-key and relaxed vibe with warm spiced cider to give everyone some reprieve everyone from their holiday stress. Create and take home your very own festive centrepiece with aromatic evergreens and a large sugar pine cone. Just in the Saint Nick of time for the holiday table.
